My second stay in Marin Hotel, this time with my wife. We booked a room with a sea view, at the 5th floor. Decent size balcony, with an amazing view over the venetian port and fortress. Incredibly beautiful sunsets and sunrises can be enjoyed from the balcony. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to have a friendly chat with you and share some local secrets. Heraklion itself has a great deal of museums, historical sites and entertainment to offer but it is also a very well located starting point for daytrips if you want to explore the rest of Crete. KTEL bus stations is located only 5min walk from the hotel. I recommend visiting Crete in December, there are almost no tourists, no queues at the museums, no queues at the restaurants and bars and all tickets for the tourist attractions are at half price.

We travelled to Heraklion as a part of our 10th anniversary trip. The hotel offered a complementary welcome basket in our room upon our arrival, which was a nice touch and it made us feel welcome. This was a very good value for money accommodation option: standard hotel room and standard hotel breakfast. The breakfast room has a spectacular view of the Heraklion Venetian Port, which we enjoyed a lot. As a kind suggestion to the hotel, we believe that adding some textiles to the breakfast room interior would improve the acoustics and enhance the atmosphere of the room (just a kind suggestion!). The old town is a very short walk away. The property is very close to the Heraklion harbor, which was convenient for us arriving by ship. The airport is only 5 km away, so we were able to walk to the airport from the hotel.

Very nice hotel with an excellent located within a 5min walk from the ferryboat port, the KTEL bus station and the main pedestrian streets and tourist sites of the city. Polite and sympatric staff at the reception, always ready to help you with anything you may need. My travel was work related so I stayed in a single room which was not very big but the veranda with partial sea view was a surprising bonus. The hotel manager even provided me with a table so I could work on the veranda. The best part of this hotel is the roof top restaurant where the breakfast is served. The view is unforgettable !

We stayed at the Marin for one night before flying home. We were very pleased with our room (502) which had the most wonderful views from the very large terrace. It was a good size and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good choice of dishes to choose from. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It is just a few minutes walk from the main shopping area of Heraklion, the port and the many restaurants. The Archeological Museum is less than 10 minutes walk away and well worth a visit.

The room was lovely, very modern furnishings and shower room was also excellent. We had a twin room with balcony overlooking the port & castle. Lifts go to the floor below the roof terrace restaurant which is a very bright space offering great views to the port and castle. Breakfast options were really good in the roof terrace restaurant. Hotel location very good, close to the port, bus station, main town and restaurants.
